The mid and upper back
is often the area of the body that is stressed by working long
hours hunched over a computer without taking frequent breaks and
by not ensuring a correct posture while sitting. A nagging ache
or stiffness between the shoulder blades and even an itching in
the area are indicators of stress. Should body stress be present in the mid and upper back then there may be an
impact on the nerve supply to various internal organs, such as
the heart, lungs, kidney and bladder, and this may cause
interference with the normal functioning of these organs.
When there is body
stress in the diaphragm muscle, the result may be indigestion or
heartburn or shallow breathing with breathlessness.
