The checks for body stress and the release is done while the baby lies on the mother’s chest.  Older babies lie across the mother’s lap during a release.

Body stress is often identified as growing pains in children.  Bed wetting in older children may also be a result of compression in the lower back.

Older children and teenagers enjoy watching television half lying, slumped on a couch.  Because the normal lumbar spinal curve is not maintained,  stress builds up in the spine.  With teenagers there is also a new awareness of their bodies and in their self-consciousness they may hunch their shoulders causing neck and back muscles to tighten.
